Todd Gorski, Music Director
 |
Todd Gorski, a Southington High School graduate, holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Music Education from Western Connecticut State University. At WestConn, he studied piano with Howard Tuvelle and voice with Perry Price. From 1995-2005, Todd served as organist and eventually Director of Music at Grace United Congregational Church in Farmington. He served as the Director of Music at The Church of the Epiphany in Southbury from 2006-2011 before joining BUMC in August of that year. He has been the Director of Choirs at Bethel Middle School since 2004 and has accompanied the choirs at Bethel High School in many concerts and adjudications, both in the United States and abroad. He currently accompanies the Naugatuck Community Choir (www.naugatuckcommunitychoir.org). He is an active member of the Connecticut Music Educators Association (CMEA) and also belongs to the Connecticut chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and the American Guild of Organists (AGO). In his free time, he enjoys running, flipping his 100-year old house, and watching funny movies.

Cheryl DePoi, Administrative Assistant

Cheryl DePoi has been a member of our church since she was 5 years old. She became the church's administrative assistant in 2006, after being a stay at home mother for 17 years. She graduated Bethel High School and WCSU. She and her husband, Art, have 4 children. Twins, Miranda and Brittany who attend UCONN, a son David who is a senior and a daughter Julia who is a junior, both attend Brookfield High School.

Randi Rote, Director Village Pre-School

Randi Rote holds a BA in Education and Art Therapy from SUNY at Buffalo and Master’s Degree in Childhood and Adolescence from Western Connecticut State University. Randi also holds a Head Teacher Certificate and Connecticut Teacher Certification in Pre-K through grade 6. This past summer she completed the first course in her path to obtain the Connecticut Director’s Certificate. Randi has over 20 years of experience working with young children. Randi’s teaching background includes writing and implementation of curriculum for Pre-K through Kindergarten age children. She was first attracted to Village Pre-School because of its philosophy of education, creative programs, dedicated teaching staff and the involved parent community. When she is not involved in administrative duties, Randi can be found in the classrooms working with the children.
Randi lives in Sandy Hook with her husband, Chuck. They have 2 grown children. In her free time Randi loves to paint, and has been an oil painting student for over 25 years.

Dawn Schwack, Fusion Coordinator

Dawn Schwack has a BA in Elementary Education with a concentration in Religious Studies from Concordia College, New York and has completed the Associates in Christian Education Program at Hartford Seminary. She was a youth leader for many years at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in New Fairfield and worked at the Monroe Congregational Church as their Director of Christian Education. Dawn was also a part time teacher at the Village Preschool.
Dawn and her husband Paul have been members of BUMC for 10 years and live in Bethel with their children Oksana, Trey and Maya. In her free time she enjoys photography, reading and traveling with her family.

Steve Temple, Adult Education Coordinator

Steve Temple and his wife Nancy have been members of our Church for over 20 years. They and their three children, Rich, Katie and Max have all been active in BUMC and its missions, particularly the Appalachia Service Project. Steve is the owner of OCON Sensible Pest Solutions and is very active in our Church life. He is an avid reader and student of the Holy Scriptures. Steve is also a member of the Fairfield County Tres Dias community and has served as a team member on several weekend retreats. |
Ann McLellan, Sunday School Coordinator
John Esposito, Youth Minister

Espo and his wife Tammy have been members of our Church for over 20 years. They and their two sons Johnny and Joe have all been active in BUMC and its Youth programs, The Appalachia Service Project, 30 Hour Famine, and Emmuaus weekends. Espo enjoys spending time hanging with the guys at the Monday night Men's Fellowship Group. Espo also enjoys helping out with Men's monthly breakfast when he can. Espo is also a member of the Fairfield County Tres Dias community and has served on weekend teams. |
Jim Kulp, Sexton

Jim Kulp and his wife Jackie have been members of BUMC since 1963. Jim started out as an usher in the church while working a full-time job driving an 18-wheeler for Vallerie Transportation, formerly located in Norwalk. Eventually, Jim began assisting the previous Sexton, Harold Mitchell, in growing capacities. When Harold retired, Jim took over as Sexton. His great work earned the nickname "Mitch Junior." Jim is responsible for all the maintenance and cleaning of the sanctuary and offices as well as all the rooms in Randall-Wright Hall. We are fortunate to have had Jim's knowledge and expertise for almost 30 years! |
